Business Development

First American's sales representatives establish relationships with controllers, treasurers and chief financial officers of leading firms throughout the U.S.  First American serves these firms by helping them assess their financial needs and proposing creative, cost-effective financial solutions.

The desire to provide truly exceptional customer service is the dominant corporate value at First American.  First American's use of a phone sales model in an industry where field sales are common has enabled it to efficiently redefine what exceptional customer service means.  Costly and inefficient regional sales offices have been replaced with efficient, cost-effective telephone and electronic communication.

First American has a limited number of openings for sales professionals in Rochester, New York.  If you have interest in one of these positions, please e-mail a letter explaining your interest, and a resume to: employment@faef.com

Business Development Positions

Associate Commercial Account Officer (A-CAO)

The Associate CAO position affords a very limited number of achievement-oriented applicants from outside the commercial leasing industry an opportunity to build a career with one of the fastest growing, most successful companies in the commercial lending marketplace.

Requirements include one or more years of direct sales experience, ideally in a business-to-business setting.  Experience in telephone sales may be helpful, but is not a prerequisite. The successful candidate will develop the ability to originate long-term business relationships with corporate officers of major corporations.  Specifically, the Associate CAO will communicate directly with the Chief Financial Officer, the Vice President of Finance, the Controller and the Information Technology Director of each prospective client company in an assigned, geographic territory.

Requirements to be considered for the Associate CAO position include the successful completion of a BS/BA from an accredited college or university or equivalent business experience, and strong verbal and written communication skills.  An Associate CAO is promoted to the CAO position once established performance objectives are achieved.  This promotion typically occurs in the first year of employment, and includes an even more aggressive commission payout structure and increased responsibilities.

Commercial Account Officer (CAO)

Compared to the successful Associate CAO candidate, the successful CAO candidate will be able to demonstrate extensive knowledge of the commercial lending and equipment leasing industry.  CAO candidates have a demonstrated ability to develop professional relationships with corporate contacts, accurately interpret business financial statements, create proposals, negotiate pricing, design and present MS PowerPoint presentations and close business independently.

An MBA or other advanced degree is helpful, but not required.  Requirements to be considered for the CAO position include a BS/BA from an accredited college or university or equivalent business experience, strong verbal and written communication skills, and prior successful experience in the commercial equipment leasing or commercial lending marketplace.

Senior Commercial Account Officer (CAO)

Promotion to the Sr. CAO position brings additional financial compensation and responsibility.  This career path is a direct result of repeated excellence in professionalism, character, leadership and quota attainment.  On rare occasion, the Sr. CAO position may be filled with a highly experienced sales professional from the commercial lending industry.  Typically, the position is achieved through an internal promotion, based on the successful candidate's character and demonstrated track-record of success.
