Rick is a lifelong student of sales and the selling process. He shares his knowledge and expertise with his colleagues and the vendors they serve to create productive programs that increase vendors' sales results. Rick uses an open and collaborative leadership style to deliver on our commitment to provide a different and better experience to the vendors we serve.
Recently, we asked Rick about his experience working at First American.
Q: What is the best part about your job?
A: In June, I will have been with First American for 14 years and there hasn’t been a single day – not one time – that I wasn’t excited about coming into work. How many people can honestly say that? I work with bright, energetic and hardworking people who share a goal of helping to grow our clients' businesses, ultimately fueling First American’s growth. I'm ecstatic to be working with individuals and teams of people all committed to winning.
Q: What would you say to someone considering a career in Sales at First American?
A: With extensive field sales experience, I have personally visited thousands of businesses. First American has a one-in-a-thousand kind of culture. I like how my colleagues make me feel – respected, appreciated and valued. At First American, I believe that we are limited only by our own imagination and desire to succeed. Our colleagues have the resources and support to do amazing things. In addition to being a successful and growing business, First American believes that every day, our colleagues make a choice to come in to our offices. I feel that my work experience is consistently the best that it can be.
Q: What are your greatest achievements? And do you have any regrets?
A: I’ve been fortunate to be given the opportunity to develop a new sales team, and then a new division; both from scratch. It has been an honor to watch my colleagues on those teams rise to the challenge and become experts in their roles and leaders of their own teams. First American provided me with the opportunity and the platform to demonstrate my capabilities and to achieve my goals. My only regret is that I didn’t find the company 10 years sooner.
