On Friday, May 8th First American Equipment Finance, a City National subsidiary, held their annual companywide Mid-Year Meeting. This year, instead of gathering in a hotel ballroom, the 262-person meeting was held on Zoom – the largest Zoom meeting in First American’s history.
Every year in May, First American holds a day-long offsite meeting in Rochester, NY. The meeting serves as a time to connect with colleagues, reflect on the first half of the year, and get inspired for the second half. When the company shifted to a work from home environment in March 2020, First American’s leadership team decided to proceed with the Mid-Year Meeting virtually. “There has never been a more important time to bring the company together than right now,” said Alan Sikora, CEO.
Meeting Highlights:
-
Richard Handler, University of Rochester Board of Trustees Chair and CEO of Jefferies Financial Group joined Alan’s keynote presentation to share his perspectives.
-
Gerard Cassidy, Head of U.S Bank Equity Strategy & Analyst at RBC Capital Markets led an afternoon session providing insight into the economy.
-
Carol Roselle, Senior Vice President of Human Resources at First American led a professional development session.
-
Concurrent Sessions were led by FAEF colleagues and participants could choose from one of 11 topics. All sessions are recorded and available to colleagues in FAEF’s LMS.
The day came to a close as Alan led the final session, State of the Company. Alan encouraged colleagues to focus on what they can control, in particular:
-
Learning and professional development
-
Mindset and strengthening internal locus of control
-
Leverage the tools that set First American apart
-
Opportunity to serve upmarket clients
-
Culture will triumph
