FA | Impact Day

Transforming its annual employee meeting into a first-of-its-kind outdoor volunteer effort, employees from First American Equipment Finance participated May 14 in a day of volunteering that extended from Rochester all the way to California and captured the impact colleagues can make when they work together for a cause.

“Impact Day,” which followed a virtual townhall session led by First American CEO Alan Sikora, brought together more than 230 colleagues who spent the day volunteering at 19 organizations across 26 Rochester-area locations. Seven additional remote employees also participated from New York City and California. Volunteers arrived at their locations with tools and donations in-hand to tackle yardwork, painting, sorting and building projects. In total, First American donated more than $5,000 in in-kind materials to organizations on Impact Day.

“First American employees wholeheartedly believe in supporting their communities,” said Sikora. “I can’t think of a better way for us to safely ‘reconnect’ in person than volunteering outside and being purposeful with our time. When we come together like this as a company, we can make a significant impact in the community.”
