First American has been named #1 on the Rochester Top Workplaces 2022 list (midsize category, 125-399 FTE) by Democrat & Chronicle. This is First American’s second consecutive year on the list. The Top Workplaces list is based solely on employee feedback gathered through a third-party survey administered by employee engagement technology partner Energage, LLC. The anonymous survey measures 15 culture drivers that are critical to the success of any organization: including alignment, execution, and connection, just to name a few.
“We are honored to be part of this prestigious list of local employers,” said CEO, Alan Sikora. “For over 25 years, my colleagues have helped build a workplace culture full of ambition, inclusion, and excellence. We look forward to continuing our growth in Rochester and sharing our success with the local community for years to come.”
Over the past five years, First American’s new business volume has grown substantially, from $606 million in 2016 to $1.38 billion in 2021. During this time, the company created 90 new positions at its Rochester, NY headquarters. First American’s vision is to become the best company to work for and the best company to work with

Additionally, Energage named First American as the #26 Top Workplace USA (150-499 FTE) earlier this year. Best Companies Group named First American as the #1 Best Company to Work For in New York (250+ FTE). Fortune and Great Place to Work® ranked First American as a Best Workplace for Millennials, a Best Small & Medium Workplace, a Best Workplace in New York, a Best Workplace in Financial Services & Insurance, Best for Women, Best for Giving Back and Best for Grads. Entrepreneur Magazine named First American a Top Company Culture and Selling Power Magazine named First American among the Best to Sell For.
